One of the most important things the Development Foundation does each year is prepare the next generation for business leadership by awarding the Spirit of Sioux Falls Scholarships. The Sioux Falls Development Foundation awards the $3,000 scholarships annually to students who are Sioux Falls residents or who have completed at least one year of post-secondary work in a South Dakota educational institution.
This year’s winners are Tamara Jorgensen, a management major at the University of Sioux Falls, and Samuel Van Voorst, a Health Services Administration major at the University of South Dakota. Congratulations to these exemplary students who have ambitions to become the South Dakota business leaders of tomorrow.
Applicants must also attend a school accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in business and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of business in American society. A motivation and ability to succeed, academic excellence, and community involvement are also criteria for this award. The deadline for registration is March 15.
