Development Foundation president Slater Barr and vice president of economic development Dean Dziedzic recently spent several days in Chicago and New York City meeting with site selectors and media editors. With company activity heating up across the country, it is more important than ever to get the details of the Sioux Falls business advantage into the hands of decision makers and decision shapers.
The trip was coordinated by Development Counsellors International, the New York consulting group which has been helping Sioux Falls get national media attention. Barr and Dziedzic met with 11 site selection consultants in the two cities and with MarketWatch in Chicago and with Real Estate Finance & Investment in New York.
“Meeting the top executives in the site selector community face-to-face gives a definite edge when companies represented by those firms are making a decision,” Barr said. “National site selectors are aware of the many advantages offered by a Sioux Falls location, but getting solid evidence into their hands in meetings like these can be the tipping point in closing deals.”
There is better training for our workforce in Sioux Falls. A multitude of options are available to meet businesses' needs at the postsecondary level including city programs, state grants, technical training, and a new $50 million scholarship program for technical school students.Read More
