It’s only been a bit more than a month since I started my position as president and CEO of the Sioux Falls Development Foundation, but it already seems like home. I’m glad to get back to my roots in this area, and the friendliness and positivity of the people we’ve met since moving back has made us so happy to be here.
I’ve been meeting with business and community leaders starting on my first day in Sioux Falls and I have more person-to-person meetings planned. Your views on the growth of our region and the challenges that face our community are critical to the future of Sioux Falls and the Development Foundation. I want to hear as many voices as possible and learn as much as I can about our region and our business community from the real experts—people like you who understand the community and its needs.
I have already learned that I’m working with great staff and an active, involved board of directors—a head start for any president and CEO. Together, we’re all talking about what we can do as an organization to build prosperity in our region and strengthen the role of the Development Foundation as an active player in growing opportunity for businesses and families who have chosen to live and work here.
Again, I appreciate the warm welcome you have extended. I value the opportunity you have given me to help grow our region. Here at the Sioux Falls Development Foundation, we’re looking forward to an exciting year of development!
