| Groundbreaking held for Technology Business Center Accelerator | 05/14/2003 |
| The SDTBC is a technology-business accelerator that will assist new and early-stage tech-based businesses by offering leased space and providing business development services such as planning, accounting, marketing and legal assistance. The goal of the project is to diversify the regional economy by helping entrepreneurs establish the next generation of tech-related businesses in Sioux Falls. The SDTBC was launched as part of the Forward Sioux Falls (FSF) program, a joint-venture between the Sioux Falls Development Foundation (SFDF) and the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce (SFACC). Funding for the $4 million project was provided by FSF, SFACC, SFDF, a HUD/VA EDI grant and the South Dakota Future Fund. Developing the Technology Business Center is the first step in establishing the Southeast Technical Institute and USDSU area of Sioux Falls as a core area for education, research and technology business development. | |
