| South Dakota Best State Tax System for Entrepreneurship & Small Business | 04/28/2010 |

The Index ranks the states from best to worst in terms of the costs of their tax systems on entrepreneurship and small business based on 16 different tax measures. Some of the 16 measures include a state’s top personal income tax and top individual capital gains tax rates, top corporate income tax and top corporate capital gains tax rates, property taxes, consumption-based taxes (i.e., sales, gross receipts and excise taxes), unemployment taxes and gas and diesel taxes; just to name a few. A few of the best state tax systems include #1 South Dakota, #4 Wyoming, and #10 Colorado with Iowa #45 and Minnesota #49 at the bottom of the rankings. |
