| Jim Wilcox wins Spirit of Sioux Falls Award | 12/10/2009 |

“Jim Wilcox is really one of the unsung heroes of economic development throughout our area,” said Cathy Clark, Development Foundation vice chair, in introducing Wilcox to the annual meeting crowd. “His commitment to the economic prosperity of South Dakota is as strong as his commitment to the next generation.” In thanking the Development Foundation for the award, Wilcox recalled his interview with the late Angus Anson for the Xcel Energy job in Sioux Falls. Anson was one of the Development Foundation leaders in whose memory the Spirit of Sioux Falls Award was created. “I told Angus that I see economic development as a way to provide intellectually challenging and financially rewarding opportunities in South Dakota for my children and grandchildren,” Wilcox said. “I believed that then and I believe it today.” |
