Your Future STEM career exploration program crucial for middle school students

Middle school students are at a prime age for career exploration, researchers have found. According to the National Science Teachers Association, students ages 11-14 are more open to exploring the world around them, and thus, are excited to learn about career fields they may not have initially considered. The Sioux Falls Development Foundation recently stepped in to engage these eager students with their Your Future initiative.

Executing A Plan

Early last fall under the leadership of the Foundation Board of Directors and staff, the Foundation created a road map for addressing some of the key development issues facing the community.  Our key words were ATTRACTING, RETAINING AND EXPANDING both business and talent for Sioux Falls and the surrounding region.  We created a plan to make sure the results led to tangible and measurable outcomes for the community and charged the staff and the Board with implementing the plan.
