Workforce analysis encourages action on building talent pool

 

Mac Holladay, CEO of Market Street Services, outlined the results of his company’s recent workforce analysis at a recent media event in Sioux Falls. According to Holladay, the Sioux Falls area is facing a challenge to ongoing economic growth, as many positions are going unfilled and business expansion is beginning to be restricted by a lack of available workers with a variety of skills.

Annual meeting scheduled for November 19

 

The Sioux Falls Development Foundation will hold its Annual Meeting at the Holiday Inn City Centre Thursday, November 19, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., with a brief business meeting beginning at 5:15 p.m. The event will include the distribution of this year’s annual report of developments throughout our area.

Chairman's Report: Putting it all together to make workforce development WORK

Market Street has completed their research. The Development Foundation’s workforce development task force, ably co-chaired by Augustana president Rob Oliver and Midwest Railcar Repair owner Greg Carmon, has presented its report. Forward Sioux Falls leaders are meeting to consider all these findings and determine how to incorporate them into the action plan for the next campaign. Now all that remains is the hard work of growing a workforce for the next decade or so in Sioux Falls.
